I
don't know about you but I get bored at traffic lights. You just sit
there waiting for the light to change.. and what do I do? I find myself
reading license plates, road signs and just about anything else to keep
my mind occupied. And that my friend is why vehicle graphics are so
important! Most folks take the same route day in and day out, and they
get used to seeing the same thing every day. So when a vehicle with
bright lettering and a clear message catches their eye it makes an
impact.
Why not turn your company vehicle into a rolling billboard! I have done tons of vehicle graphics, from tiny letters on a trunk to redesigning and producing graphics for a local police station. I even did a partial wrap on a dump truck! We're talking graphics taller than I am and about 25' long. It's was a challenge but fun, and it looked great when we were done.
One thing to remember when looking for vehicle graphics is there are basically two types used today:
The most common are 'cut vinyl' graphics and letters. This is where a file is cut out of sheets of a stretchy, rubbery like, vinyl and applied to the vehicle. The vinyl is a single color so multiple layers have to be cut and applied to make a colorful graphic on your car. These graphics tend to last a long time, usually 6 years or more even in direct sunlight. If you are only looking for a one or two colors this is a great and affordable option.
The other type of graphics are 'digitally printed'. They are
literally big "ink jet" prints with your pictures, text, and logos.
Imagine your little desktop printer blown up ten times, printing on
rolls of a vinyl. That's how these graphics are made. Now they do have
both pros and cons. For example, one great thing is there is no limit
to the colors they produce. Full color images, no problem! Want to wrap
your car in pictures and flashy text? This is the way to do it.
However, the life of a print isn't as good as 'cut vinyl'. In most
cases you'll get 3 good years out of the graphics. That sun is hot!
It's really hard on printed pictures. It's also more expensive than
having simple letters applied to your vehicle.
